December is here and Scotty is still in Santarem with Jan spending the Christmas Holiday in Florida with family there. We have become accustomed to spending holidays differently than we did in years past. It really isn’t as important that we are together physically as it is that we know where our hearts are. Christmas is not a celebration of us but a celebration of Jesus Christ. The birth of our Lord and Savior. Our plans originally were for Scotty to be in the States by now, but we are planning on having a group in March so the added expense of Scotty making another trip would be a lot extra. So Scotty will be staying until this group and possibly another one in June is complete to travel back to the U. S. A. Please remember both of us as Jan is in Florida and Scotty in Santarem.
Jan is doing much better since she has been in the States. Her headaches are not gone but they are less frequent, not as long lasting and not as painful. For this we are very thankful. She was told in 2008 that her MRI then showed a TMI(small stroke) and this was a concern and as of her last MRI in October there was no sign of anything new. So her headaches were not related to possible stroke. IN FACT WHEN THEY READ THE LATEST MRI THEY FOUND NO SIGN OF THE TMI SHE HAD IN 2008. We are very thankful for God taking care of this for her.
We want to take the time now to thank all of you who support us in whatever way. There are those who support financially, prayerfully, and both. Then for those of you that have been here, we thank you. (And we are not going back to the States and forget The Lower Amazon Region. We are just changing where we live.) We pray for you all every day that God would bless you more than you would ever dream He would. We pray that you have a very happy time throughout the Christmas Holidays. AND, YES THEY ARE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS AND NOT happy holidays or anything else the world would call them. We celebrate Christ and He is the reason for Christmas. And through Him we can have true Happiness.
Our prayers for this Christmas Season are that:
• We can see peace in our world of turmoil
• We will see more amd more come to know Jesus as their Lord
• Our government would realize that The United States of America was built on Biblical principles and as we allow them to erode, so do our values
• We as Christians will stand up for our beliefs
• Like Jabez, God would bless us INDEED
• That Jesus would be the focus as we celebrate His birth.
We love you and pray for all our partners daily
