Here we are at the end of January 2010. What has happened? Well we spent 2 weeks at the end of December looking for a less expensive house but didn't find one that was suitable and affordable. So we will stay here another year and try to be ready to move at the end of this year.
We made a trip to Obidos on the afternoon of the 21st. We took a barge going and the "fast boat" coming back. It took us 7 1/2 hours to get there and 2 hours and 20 minutes to get home. It even rained on the way home. We went to celebrate the th anniversary of Emanuel Baptist Church. It was really a great time of praising the Lord. We had services Friday thru Sunday. The church was full all the time. We were at New Hope congregation Saturday morning for a time of VBS/worship. There were plenty of children for VBS and lots of adults for worship. It was combination of both together. We spent some very good time with Pastor Expedito and his wife Brigida. There was time Sunday afternoon for us to use his boat, the Dona Irene, to visit Villa Roberto and get to visit with some friends from our previous visits.
We have some prayer requests from our trip also.
- Jan has had some problems with her back. They are muscle spasms that she has experienced before but they just won't let go. Pray for her to be able to overcome them.
- The Leader at Emanuel, Pastor Dorinelson, is having some problems and needs your prayers. God will know what they are.
- Pastor Dorinelson's wife Neiva has some physical problems also that need your prayers. She will be coming to Santarem soon to see a doctor here and could be looking to surgery.
- Pastor Expedito needs your prayers also. He has the role of leader at First Baptist and also at Betel and is very limited to what he can do. It is hard to be split between 2 churches and called to the river ministry also.
Remember us as you pray also. There is a lot going on here even without groups being here. BY THE WAY..... We have only 1 group that has given us dates. IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON COMING THIS YEAR TO DO MINISTRY YOU NEED TO BE GETTING YOUR DATES SET. WE ARE SURE THAT GOD HAS 5 OR 6 GROUPS THAT WILL COME SO WE NEED YOU TO LISTEN TO HIM AND LET US KNOW WHEN YOU WANT TO COME.
