Matthew 28:1-6 (NASB)
Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave. [2] And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it. [3] And his appearance was like lightning, and his garment as white as snow; [4] and the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. [5] And the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. [6] "He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.
Hello and we are glad to tell you that we have had 2 groups so far. One was in February and the other in March. We are also looking forward to our next group on May 4th. Then the end of June another one is coming and will be immediately followed by one coming in July. We will have a short break to recover for the September and October groups. God has blessed us greatly.
The February group had 10 people with 5 preachers. We went to a new area with this group. We started out at Boim on the Tapajos River, and then to Serraria and Jauarituba. They are the first villages we have visited on the Tapajos for a very long time. We will be going back. We had VBS and visitation and preaching every day and God's presence was very apparent. It was great to finally have Jan back home and to be able to go on the boat trip.
We are very thankful to the group for being obedient to God's call to "GO INTO ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD". The group consisted of: Tim R., Tim D., Mike, Rick, Laura, Travis, Lonnie, Julie, Sherri, Danny, Gary, and Willie. We all had a great time sharing the love of Jesus. We look forward to having each one of them return again next year.
Then in March we had pastor Randy and Bob from Bloomington IN came and did discipleship in 3 villages on the Arapiuns River. We began in Vila Franca and continued to Tucuma and Sao Miguel and did discipleship training. It was a time of encouragement and teaching of the gospel with the believers in these villages. We have been invited to come back and stay longer in each of the villages. We were blessed by the openness and love of the people of each village.
Pastor Randy has ties with a little congregation in Marimarituba and we had a chance to visit there also. The water was up really high many of the residents were not there. They had moved to another place that was higher ground for a while till the water recedes.
Take a look at the many pictures and see some of what we have been doing this year.
